Matthew 25:40
“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
This verse comes from a larger teaching by Jesus, often called the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, found in Matthew's Gospel. In this parable, Jesus describes a future judgment where people are separated based on how they treated the hungry, thirsty, strangers, naked, sick, and imprisoned.
What does it mean for our actions towards others to be simultaneously actions towards Jesus?
