Genesis 2:2-3
“On the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because on it he rested from all his work which he had created and made.”
These verses conclude the first creation account in Genesis, describing God's activity in creating the heavens and the earth. After six days of work, God designates the seventh day as a time of rest and holiness.
What does it mean for us to participate in a rhythm of work and rest that echoes creation itself?
