Romans 13:1
“Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God; and those who exist are ordained by God.”
The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to Christians in Rome, a diverse and influential city at the heart of the Roman Empire, around the mid-first century CE. He is discussing how believers should relate to governing powers and the wider society.
