Psalm 19:1-4a
“The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Day after day they pour forth speech, and night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech nor language. Their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world.”
Psalm 19 is an ancient Hebrew poem, likely from the Persian period (6th-4th century BCE), celebrating God's revelation in two ways: first through the natural world, and then through the divine law (Torah). This opening section focuses on the pervasive, non-verbal witness of creation.
