Genesis 11:4
“They said, "Come, let's build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top may reach to the sky, and let's make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth."”
This verse is part of the story of the Tower of Babel, found in the book of Genesis. It describes a group of people, shortly after the flood, who decided to build a city with an incredibly tall tower, aiming to centralize their power, make a name for themselves, and avoid being dispersed across the earth.
