Jeremiah 29:7
“Seek the shalom of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its shalom will be your shalom.”
The prophet Jeremiah writes to the Jewish people who have been exiled from their homeland to Babylon in the 6th century BCE. He is conveying a message from God, instructing them not to expect a quick return, but to settle in and contribute to the well-being of the foreign land where they now live.
