2 Corinthians 9:7
“Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
This verse comes from Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth, written around 55-57 CE. Paul is encouraging the Corinthians to contribute to a collection for the impoverished believers in Jerusalem, reminding them about the spirit in which they should give.
