Galatians 5:13

“For you, brothers, were called to freedom; only don't use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

Paul wrote this letter to the churches in Galatia (modern-day Turkey) in the mid-1st century CE. He was addressing a tension between those who insisted Gentile Christians must follow Jewish law (like circumcision) and his teaching that salvation comes through faith in Christ, not adherence to the law. This verse comes as he defines the nature of the freedom found in Christ.
